Lengthening, thickening of the penis

We are often asked about penis enlargement (lengthening or thickening). Of course, there are times when the penis is really small. But often, many do not require surgery at all. Such patients, as a rule, suffer from micropenis syndrome or penile dysmorphophobia and need a course of psychotherapy, because in fact they just think that they have a small penis. Sometimes the doctor’s arguments are not enough to convince the patient. At the same time, we understand that the subsequent increase in the patient’s confidence and self-esteem will lead to an improvement in his sexual function.

Currently, there is no effective drug method for penis enlargement.

The lengthening of the penis is carried out either surgically or in a hardware way. The hardware method of penis lengthening includes the use of a special tool – an extender and a vacuum device. The method developed in our clinic allows penis enlargement up to 2–4 cm in length and up to 1 cm in circumference. Extenders in this case act as a therapeutic method for increasing the male reproductive organ.

The first devices were invented in Denmark. Nowadays, in domestic specialized stores or pharmacies, you can find models from other European manufacturers. The principle of operation of the extender: the device is fixed on the organ, and special rods slowly pull out its cavernous bodies. The instrument should be worn for at least six months for several hours a day (from 4 to 9 hours). This method of penis lengthening should be used only after consultation with a qualified doctor in order to avoid undesirable consequences for the health of a man.

The other is faster, but also more invasive, surgical. Surgically, it is possible to achieve an elongation of the penis up to 2-6 centimeters (average value – 3-4 cm). The penis thickens by an average of 0.6 cm in diameter (its circumference will be 3–4 cm).

The surgical method of lengthening the penis is called ligamentotomy, that is, the dissection of the suspensory ligament. The male organ consists of two cavernous bodies, which are a kind of reservoirs. They fill with blood and cause the penis to become erect. Approximately one third of the length of the cavernous bodies is inside the body. They are fixed by skin and a ligament that is attached to the pubic bone. The operative method manages to dissect the suspensory ligament and thereby increase the penis to such a length that the internal part of the corpora cavernosa allows.

The duration of the operation is up to one and a half hours, it is performed under anesthesia. After the operation, it is recommended to wear an extender, which will fix the positive result.

Penis lengthening can also be performed by other methods: with the help of skin plasty in the case of a buried penis, liposuction in case of an excessive subcutaneous fat layer, plasty of the albuginea, etc.

Simultaneously with the lengthening, the thickening of the penis can also be carried out. Previously, an increase in the circumference of the penis was carried out by placing muscles, adipose tissue, synthetic materials, gel under the skin. All these tissues and materials had disadvantages: from an unaesthetic appearance and a quick disappearance of the effect to a violation of tissue trophism and graft rejection.

Currently, we use a modern technique developed by our teacher, Professor Sava Perovic from Belgrade: placing a biodegradable matrix under the skin of the penis, which is replaced by its own cells before resorption. Thus, we avoid the reaction of rejection.

The main thing for the patient is to determine exactly whether he needs such an operation, or the reason for the micropenis is still psychological.
